**EXCLUSIVELY TELEHEALTH**

Michael Stier, LCPC, LPC, NCC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois and a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Missouri and Georgia. He specializes in using evidenced-based treatment approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat OCDhealth anxiety, and other related anxiety-based disorders (including panic disorderphobias, and social anxiety). Additionally, he integrates both mindfulness-based and metacognitive strategies into his approach to increase motivation, develop insight, and ultimately deepen exposure-based treatment approaches.

Located in Illinois, about 25 minutes outside of St. Louis, Michael conducts all of his sessions via telehealth. While at first a necessity due to COVID-19, Michael has created new, innovative, and flexible ways to maximize teletherapy for treating OCD and related disorders.

Michael is the co-author of “The Complete Guide to Overcoming Health Anxiety,” offered in paperback and ebook options. This book has a corresponding website all about health anxiety, www.OvercomingHealthAnxiety.com.

Before joining Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta, Michael owned and operated a solo private practice in Illinois that focused solely on the treatment of OCD, health anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and specific phobias. He finds particular interest and experience with subtypes in OCD often classified as Pure O subtypes, including moral and religious suprolosity, obsessions with content involving sexuality, and content around harm and responsibility. In addition, Michael has worked extensively with specific phobias involving things pertaining to the medical field such as blood, needles, medical procedures, etc.

Michael has also led seminars in the St. Louis metro area about the accurate assessment and treatment of OCD and related disorders using evidenced-based treatment approaches. He is a current and active member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). He presents annually at the annual IOCDF conference and provides clinical consultation to other professionals.

Michael has lived in the St Louis area for his entire life and enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. Additionally, he is often joined by his co-therapists, Fred and Edith, his two Boston Terriers, in session. They will often want to come to say hello when they aren’t sleeping/snoring, of course. He continues to play and watch ice hockey (Let’s Go Blues!), is an espresso aficionado, and enjoys comedies such as The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Seinfeld.
