Rachel Warsett, LPC, NCC, CPCS is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) who works with children, adolescents, and adults with expertise in treating anxiety disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Rachel’s therapeutic approach is integrative, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and strength-based therapies. In exploring how thoughts impact feelings and behaviors, Rachel empowers patients by providing the tools necessary to handle difficult situations. Another area of specialty for Rachel is her more than ten years of experience using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Rachel is featured in Dr. Rebecca Beaton’s (a nationally recognized anxiety and exposure specialist) ERP Training as an expert in ERP with children and teens. Additionally, her clinical interests and experiences include stress management, specific phobias, adjustment difficulties/life transitions, emotion regulation in children and teens, mood disorders, family and relational issues, and play therapy.

In her work, Rachel focuses on the unique individual, discovering the strengths that each person develops in order to bring about positive change and help others realize their potential. She utilizes creative and expressive techniques from a holistic perspective to emphasize the mind-body connection. Rachel works collaboratively with patients from an empathic, respectful, and accepting place, valuing the therapeutic relationship and the process. Rachel is genuinely concerned with improving the lives of others and is dedicated to the journey with each patient.

Rachel holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida. Rachel was a research assistant at the Division of Medical Psychology at Shands Hospital where she was first trained in ERP. She worked with patients presenting with a variety of concerns including OCDsocial phobiaseparation anxietyeating disordersdepression, and generalized anxiety disorder. She also worked on research projects in the areas of executive functioning, sleep and anxiety, health issues and compliance in treatment, and the impact of social media on social phobia. Rachel then was a research assistant at Georgia State University with a focus on positive psychology. Most recently, Rachel worked as an individual, family, and group therapist at a private practice in Atlanta where she honed her expertise in anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, panic disorder, social phobia, adjustment disorder, and OCD.

Rachel was born and raised in Atlanta. Rachel lives in Alpharetta with her husband, son, and dog, Rosie. When Rachel is not chasing after her toddler, or reading psychology books (yes, she does this for fun), you can find her baking, cheering on the Florida Gators, exploring the neighborhoods of Atlanta, or watching the television shows “The Office” or “Friends” for the 100th time.
