Consultations for Clients and Families

Over the last decade, Dr. Josh Spitalnick, Founder and CEO of Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta (ASoA), has built a Center of Excellence focused on serving clients and their families by fostering a deeper understanding of the vital role families can play in the healing and treatment process. ASOA’s brand of clinical care emphasizes the science of anxiety treatment, along with a compassionate, interactive, and highly engaging treatment approach to help children, adolescents, adults, and their loved ones learn to live with fear, not in fear.

With more than 20 OCD and Anxiety specialists, Dr. Spitalnick and the clinical leadership continue to focus on equipping both clients and their families with effective coping mechanisms to navigate anxiety-related challenges as a cohesive unit. Our growing team offers expert clinical care in more than 35 states, practicing in three different states, and relies exclusively on treatments that are science-backed.

Brief No-cost Consultations
For anyone considering starting treatment with our team, we offer an initial no-cost, brief (15 min) phone/video call that can be conducted prior to scheduling the initial diagnostic evaluation session to determine the appropriateness of the referral question, likelihood of fit for our services, and to answer your questions not covered in these materials. For most patients or families, this call will not be necessary but remains an available service for anyone interested.

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) Consultations
SPACE is a therapeutic intervention done directly with parents, without children involved, to help children with social anxiety, separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, specific fears/phobias, panic disorder, selective mutism, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This can be a single consultation with the caregiver of the child or a series of consultations depending on the severity and need of presenting problems.

Offered by our SPACE-trained parenting specialist, these consultations, by phone or video, are designed to address clinical care recommendations, treatment planning, coordination of care, connection with mental health providers, and/or education on parenting children with anxiety and OCD. No formal assessment, review of past records, written report, or diagnosis will be provided on behalf of the primary client but resources and recommendations can be sent. At the end of the consultation, the clinician aims to have given parents a viable direction for finding anxiety and OCD treatment options for their child. Additionally, this consultation can also serve as direction for practicing clinicians on approaching complex pediatric anxiety cases with parent-focused interventions in mind.
