Dr. Henderson has extensive training and experience in the area of clinical research, assessment and differential diagnosis, and clinical intervention for anxiety and mood disorders. After graduating in 2010 as a psychology major at the University of Delaware, he accepted a position as a research assistant at the University of Florida Center for the Study of Emotion (CSEA) and became more involved in research on emotional responses in individuals with anxiety and related disorders. At the University of Florida’s Clinical and Health Psychology doctoral program, he pursued opportunities for more specialized training related to anxiety disorders and psychological assessment. On internship at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Dr. Henderson further developed skills in providing exposure-based interventions for adults, facilitated group psychotherapy for anxiety disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings, and worked as part of an interdisciplinary team on a project developing a telehealth app focused on helping individuals manage anxiety symptoms.

After earning his Ph.D., he pursued further training in anxiety and OCD by completing a postdoctoral training program through the Division of Psychology at the University of Florida, he worked in an intensive outpatient clinic for OCD and related disorders and developed skills in parent management training. He also became more involved in telehealth-based treatment around this time, including serving as a member of the department’s telehealth task force and getting more involved in group therapy, including creating and facilitating a social anxiety group for adolescents with social anxiety using Zoom and facilitating in-person groups as part of a summer camp for children with OCD and related disorders. Once licensed, Dr. Henderson worked as a clinical supervisor for Rogers Behavioral Health in Atlanta where he was responsible for overseeing PHP and IOP programs for children and adults with OCD/Anxiety or Depression. He joined Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta in 2023 as a staff Psychologist.
